Club Policy Statement |
|
The Honda Shadow Owners Club UK is a non profit organisation aimed at providing a meeting / discussion point for owners of Honda Shadows, regardless of model, cc, origins and year of manufacture. This is a social club, with a very simple structure, run by Shadow enthusiasts for fellow bikers. We do not have hard and fast rules, but as a guidance please note that we will consider full fledged members those who own a Honda Shadow. Their partners and families will be considered honorary members as will regular contributors to the club who don't own a Shadow, friends of full members are welcome to come along to our gatherings as guests regardless of what they ride (if they ride bikes at all). There is no membership fee to pay to become a full member of this club and all the admin work is carried out on a voluntary basis by members for the benefit of all members. Any queries/suggestions regarding the club, its activities and its policies should be sent using the contact form and these will be dealt with as soon as possible. The first point of contact is this forum currently hosted on wanadoo. Use this forum to get in touch with other members for technical advice, meetings, etc. Further information, links and the picture gallery are hosted on our main website at www.hsocuk.com. Please note that although the main subject of discussion should be our Shadows, we will be happy to discuss any topic including non-politically correct ones as long as comments and opinions are offered in a polite and non aggressive manner. Gratuitous rudeness and shit stirring won't be tolerated and offending members instantly moderated. We are here to enjoy ourselves and share a good time with fellow Shadow enthusiasts, not to be verbally belligerant. But be warned: this club consists of adult members with a vivid and sordid imaginaton, so expect a fair amount of banter and innuendo. Nobody sets out to offend anyone, but if you feel any comments made are inappropriate please contact us using the contact form and the matter will be promptly dealt with. Dates for "official club outings" will be announced via the forum and the website as and when these are scheduled. Depending on the nature of the event, there may be the opportunity to acquire tickets at reduced prices or indeed to obtain free passes for the event. Whenever possible, the club will endeavour to offer its members the benefit of discounted entry fees, however due to the increased number of members attending, any free tickets or discounts will be passed on to fully fledged members first and to their partners afterwards if still available. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to extend benefits to friends or other family members. Free passes are usually issued to bike clubs in return for their members to dispaly their bikes on a club stand allocated by the organisers. It is imperative that members agreeing to this keep their word and indeed leave their bikes on display for the required duration in order to ensure that in the future the club will again benefit from special conditions.
