![]() Casper's Guides to the digital world for Non-Geeks Most of us, when we take pics, end up with what we want in the middle, with lots of extra background etc. To show the pics at their best, we want to get rid of this extra, but as each pic is different, we need to do this for each pic individually. It's important we do this before we resize for the web, or we'll end up with pics too small. Start up Irfanview, and open the first image. If the image is too big for the screen, click view/display options/fit image to window, as here;
I am using a pic I took of Bob the Dog, that has a lot I don't want. Now look at the pic, and decide what you want to keep. Place the cursor in one corner, and holding down the left button, pull the cursor to the opposite corner. You should now have a box on the pic that looks like this; Note, you can move any of the outlines, by placing your cursor on it, and dragging it to where you want. ![]() Note, I have not rotated the pic yet, I will do that later, for a reason. Now, click on edit/crop selection, as here;
and you should end up with what you want to keep, as here;
Now all you have to do is save the file. Save it with the same name, replacing the original, and making sure to save them at TOP quality. Previous :: Next Site design by Clive Leech |
